More about IPTV Encoders

Encoding can cover a lot of ground and understanding can be eased with just a bit of explaining. An IPTV encoder accepts video sources and encodes that video into a compressed MPEG stream. The IPTV encoder then package the stream for transport over an Ethernet system.

About QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder

The QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder features dual-channel encoders that create MPEG-2 or H.264 IPTV streams from two separate video sources.

Full Description & Specifications

The QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder features dual-channel encoders that create MPEG-2 or H.264 IPTV streams from two separate video sources. It offers low latency, accepts video resolutions from 480i and 1080p, and supports closed captioning. The output can be changed to resolutions between 480i and 1080p using the built-in scalers. The QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder also accepts audio from embedded SPDIF, or analog stereo and can encode AC-3, MPEG-1 Layer 2, or AAC.

  • Two Component inputs, supporting from 480p to 1080p video
  • Two Composite/CC video inputs for encoding, captioning, or EAS use
  • Two analog Stereo and two S/PDIF coax audio inputs
  • Creates up to two high-definition SPST Unicast or Multicast IPTV streams, encoded as H.264 or MPEG-2
  • Converts stereo and PCM to stereo AAC or MP12, passes through or AC-3
  • Can create SAP dual-language audio for each program
  • Embedded captioning from Line 21 data on composite video inputs.
  • Dual hardware scalers accept up to1080p video, including 60/30 Hz, and PAL formats, and can deliver programs at a scaled or native resolution
  • Dual-program operation is standard
  • Sets up with front-panel buttons and easy to use menus, including inputs, encoding, channel, and RF options.
  • Onboard Web page for setup and monitoring, also accessible from front-panel USB port - an Ethernet connection is not required
  • Updates firmware via USB and Ethernet
  • Fan cooled, with variable speed
  • Saves power and rack space using efficient design
  • Meets RoHS safety and California energy standards
