Miami Dade EOC - No Need to Panic

September 19th, 2012 in Case Studies

The No Need for Panic article in the October 2012 edition of AV Technology, highlights the new Miami-Dade County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) - the command and control center for this extreme Florida weather hotspot. In the event of an actual emergency, this facility is where representatives from each county agency, and partners from other state agencies and private entities, gather to help orient the county’s response to a disaster.

Installed by EOC staff, this site features QMOD-HDSC and QMOD-HD modulators and 232-ATSC+1 HDTV tuners - showing how RF is the simplest path for HD video distribution and control. And they're not done yet, adding 40 more channels to integrate Fire Rescue with the EOC facility by the end of the year. The onboard Web control pages in the 232-ATSC+1 tuners give them easy access to selecting channels for distribution.
