The Preset pages offer the ability to send control Presets to displays and projectors throughout the system. New features available in version 4.5.9 include:
- Customizable Web control panel - 45 buttons in user-created layout
- Macros - Created a database of control command groups
- Matrix Preset - Create a matix array of displays and control commnads. For example, you can create a list of 30 displays set to show a pattern of channels. (Mouse over above image to view a sample Preset)
- External Preset - create presets that can integrate other components using RS-232 or IP commands
The Control pages include two tools for display control.
- Control Page - Sends a saved Preset to displays, user-defined layout of 45 buttons
- Special Control Page provides two types of Preset Tools
- Send - Select and send any Preset
- Special Commands. including:
- Set display code - instructs a controller to use a different set of control codes for a different make and model of display.
- Tune analog or digital only - can lock an HD display to only tune digital or analog channels.
- Use CableCard tuning - switch to the 5-digit CableCard style digital tuning from normal two-part dashed (XX-XX) digital channel tuning
The Preset Edit page offers the ability to create, copy, or edit new Command presets. Note that Display Express assigns control commands to three entities:
- All Zones – All displays respond to the same Preset
- Zones – All displays within one of 15 Zones respond to the same Preset (the names of the Zones can be changed on the Display Setup page).
- Single Display – Sends Preset to one display address
Editing Modes
- Create New Preset –Clears fields to enter a new Preset
- Edit Existing Preset – Fills in the values of the selected Preset. Change and Save.
- Copy Existing Preset – Copies the values of the selected Preset. Change and Save.
- Single Preset - Create a preset for one Zone or individual display
- Advanced Preset - launch a matrix or timed list of commands
Preset Parameters
Add or change values to an existing or new Preset. Parameters that are checked on the left will be sent, those unchecked will not be saved or sent.
- Name – Enter a name for a new or copied Preset.
- Zone – Select from 15 Zones or All Zones.
- Single Display – use radio button to select a Preset to a specific display.
- Power - Set Power On or Off.
- HDTV Channel – Enter HDTV channel in dashed (XX-X) or CableCard format (XXXXX)
- NTSC Channel – Enter desired analog channel (digital TVs will ignore this command)
- Volume - Set volume level 0 (Mute) to 63 (Full)
- Control Lock - Enable or disable display’s front-panel and IR control (not all sets have this feature)
- Tune Ring - Define available analog channels for use with Smart TVs
- Save/Restore - Controllers save power and channel status for future recall
External Presets
Create special-application presets that can integrate components over IP or RS-232. For example, you can now create and schedule commands to AMX, Crestron, and Extron controllers, as well as IP-driven video projectors and other devices.
System Presets
Creates Presets for system backup and restore. A System Preset can be launched or scheduled in the same fashion as control Presets.
